You have to be patient and diplomatic with customers, even when you are at the end of a long shift and they are being particularly difficult. <br /><br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Training </span><br /><br />Hotel management courses are usually open after plus two or equivalent examination in any stream. Those below 20 or 22 years of age are encouraged to apply. Students learn about food production, food and beverage service, front office operation and house keeping and get managerial inputs in areas such as sales and marketing, financial management, human resource management, hotel and catering law, property management besides entrepreneurship development. <br /><br />The three-year ''Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration'' offered jointly by the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and Indira Gandhi National Open University is offered in 24 government-sponsored institutes of hotel management. Students completing class X may start on craft-based courses meant for people who want to work in food production, food and beverage service, front office and housekeeping. Master''s degree programmes allow students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge base, proceed for research and development in industry and to join the faculty of the institutes of hospitality or hotel management. <br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Selection</span><br /><br />The All-India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to be held on April 24 by NCHMCT would be used for selecting candidates for around 3,000 seats. The three-hour objective type written test has 40 questions each on reasoning and logical, numerical ability and scientific aptitude, service and hospitality aptitude, general knowledge and English language. <br /><br />The test for ''Bachelor of Hotel Management'' offered by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education at Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration is of two-hour duration and carries 100 marks. There will be one question paper divided into numeracy of 20 marks, conceptual of 25 marks, general English of 20 marks, general awareness of 20 marks. There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of the objective type and case study of 15 marks of the descriptive type. <br /><br />All candidates writing the entrance test must attend the group discussion to be held immediately after the entrance test in the same test centre.
